For the past 15 years Alan Staple has worked for the Clinton Health Access Initiative and led the team devoted to market shaping. He has extensive experience in supporting complex multi-stakeholder negotiations. He has served as CHAI’s lead manager for relationships and agreements with the global pharmaceutical and diagnostics industry and is responsible for developing access programs for health commodities in the areas of HIV, TB, malaria, liver disease, maternal child health, and cancer. Mr. Staple has designed and negotiated market shaping agreements that generated product cost savings of over $3B and expanded access to world class medicines and diagnostics in developing countries. He holds a BA in economics from Oberlin College and an MSc from the London School of Economics.
