Forging Partnerships and Expanding Impact.
The FAS Fiscal Sponsorship Program seeks to support burgeoning entrepreneurs in science and technology policy.
Through this program, FAS provides sponsorship and support for philanthropic endeavors in an effort to forge partnerships and expand our impact in the science community.
FAS employs a pre-approved grant relationship (Model C) arrangement. This arrangement is a financial partnership in which the project becomes a grantee of FAS and operates with the support and guidance of our expertise and 501(c)(3) status. At the conclusion of the sponsorship term, the work of the project remains the work of the project.

In a fiscal sponsorship arrangement, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization lends their tax-exempt status to an individual, unregistered group, or project (“sponsee”) that does not have tax-deductible status.
Rather than diving into a costly commitment that could divide focus and delay progress towards meeting a mission, pursuing a fiscal sponsorship allows project leaders to test their ideas without incurring significant administrative burden.
Within only one to two months, and upon completing far less paperwork than that required by the IRS, a fiscal sponsee can harness the benefits of 501(c)(3) status to manifest the mission, build programs, and earn the confidence of funders.
