Matthew Casper

Matthew Casper is an Agricultural Marketing Specialist Impact Fellow for the Federation of American Scientists. Previously, he worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) for 10 years. He started as an intern through the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) working on technical assistance projects based overseas. He then became a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist to improve data gathering and analysis on technical assistance projects that FAS managed. Most recently, over the past five years, he served as an International Trade Specialist working on improving supply chain management overseas, largely focused at minimizing barriers to move products overseas. Before his career began, he received his bachelor’s degree in international relations from George Mason University and a Master’s degree from Georgetown University from the School of Public Policy. He is originally from Minnesota but lived in Washington, D.C. from 2007-2022. He now lives in San Diego, CA.
