Julia Herrle is the Senior Manager for Climate Tech and Innovation with the Climate and Environment team at FAS. She leads FAS’s work on building support for cutting-edge research in overlooked areas, while harnessing market and economic forces to scale high-impact environmental and climate solutions. Julia brings a strong background in policy formulation, coalition and partnership building, program management, and team leadership from her previous roles with the U.S. Departments of State and Defense. Prior to FAS, Julia managed a $250M humanitarian grant portfolio at the State Department; co-authored a White House Report on the Impact of Climate Change on Migration; led inter-agency Afghan evacuation efforts for a high priority group at the Pentagon; and developed and implemented West Africa maritime and coastal security policy for the State Department. Julia holds an MPA and a BS in Public and International Affairs from Princeton University with a concentration in environmental policy.
