Jodi L. Short is the Associate Dean for Research and the Honorable Roger J. Traynor Professor of Law at UC Hastings Law. Previously, she was an associate professor at Georgetown Law and a research scholar with the Center for Business and Public Policy at Georgetown McDonough School of Business. Her research investigates business compliance with public and private forms of regulation, including environmental laws and labor standards in global supply chains. She is particularly interested in the secrecy tactics companies use to hide wrongdoing and evade compliance with legal obligations and normative expectations. Recent publications appear in Organization Science, Administrative Science Quarterly, Regulation & Governance, and the Minnesota Law Review. Professor Short received her PhD in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, her JD from Georgetown Law, and a BA from Duke University.
