Christopher Snyder is the Hyatt Professor in the Economics Department at Dartmouth College. His research and policy interests focus on incentivizing commercial markets to innovate to address global social problems such as pandemic preparedness and global warming. He provided advice on the design of advance market commitments for pneumococcal and Covid vaccines and the Frontier advance market commitment for carbon removal. He serves as a faculty director of the Market Shaping Accelerator headquartered in the Center for Global Development, research associate in the National Bureau of Economic Research, and treasurer of the Industrial Organization Society. He is the author of two widely used textbooks on microeconomics. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from MIT in 1994.
