Alexandra Machetanz

Alexandra Machetanz is an International Trade Specialist with the U.S. Department of Commerce. Currently, she is completing a Terra.do Climate Fellowship and the SPxE Accelerator with Next100 and the Federation of American Scientists. Prior to federal service, Alex completed a Fulbright Fellowship in Santiago, Chile, where she researched Syrian refugee resettlement programs. Before arriving in Chile, she researched the Cabo Delgado Natural Gas Resettlement Project in Northern Mozambique through a Boren National Security Fellowship. These fellowships were the culmination of extensive refugee resettlement research through her master’s in Public Policy and International Development Management at Georgetown University. In her free time, Alex skis, trail runs, hikes, and climbs around Washington state’s many green spaces.
