The Federation of American Scientists is proud to announce Ali Nouri’s appointment to serve in the Biden-Harris administration as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary (PDAS) in the Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs at the Department of Energy. Along with the other new leaders, he will tackle the climate crisis and work to build an equitable clean energy future for our country.

“Ali Nouri has been a great President for FAS, leading many important scientific and national security policy initiatives for the Federation,” says FAS Chair Gilman Louie. “We are very proud that he was chosen to continue his commitment to service to the country by joining President Biden’s Administration.”

FAS Vice Chair Rosina Bierbaum added: “Dr. Nouri is a great scientist who has deepened and amplified the reach of FAS in defense, technology, innovation, and biothreat issues. He has worked at the intersection of science and policy for decades – at FAS, in the U.S. Congress, and for the United Nations, and is superbly qualified to take on this key intergovernmental role.”

FAS is also pleased to announce that Dan Correa will assume the role of Acting President. A veteran of the Obama White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Dan currently directs the Day One Project at FAS. Dan is a graduate of Dartmouth College and holds degrees in Law and Economics from Yale University.
