Jae Yeon Kim

Jae Yeon Kim is an Assistant Professor of Public Policy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is also a Better Government Lab Fellow at the University of Michigan Ford School of Public Policy. His research focuses on policy implementation, administrative burden, and AI procurement and adoption in state and local governments. Previously, Kim worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Code for America, where he collaborated with federal, state, and local governments to improve access to safety net programs. He earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
