Skip is Assistant Vice President of Facilities Management at American University. Skip came to American University in May 2025 with more than 30 years of experience in the built environment with 20-plus years in design and construction and 10-plus years in campus facilities management. Skip’s career includes 14 years in the U.S. Coast Guard, six years in the private sector as a general contractor and construction manager, and more than 18 years of experience with three federal agencies in the Washington, DC area. Skip has served leadership roles in numerous national-level trade organizations and is recognized as a subject matter expert in facilities management as well as design and construction. Major focus areas in Skip’s career include change management and sustainability.
