Cate Young is the Senior Associate for Day One and Policy Entrepreneurship at the Federation of American Scientists. Her work focuses on the broad analysis, development, and production of federal S&T policy. She helps facilitate expert connection and engagement, supporting maximum impact for policy entrepreneurs.

Previously, Cate worked on health insurance policy analysis for the Minnesota Department of Commerce where she prioritized equity, accountability, and accessibility. Cate attained a B.S. in Political Science, Conservation Biology, and Environmental Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison L&S Honors Program and Nelson Center for Environmental Studies. While earning her degree, she attained a certification in Type 2 Firefighting, volunteering for prescribed burns throughout South Central Wisconsin.

In her spare time, Cate enjoys reading, watching sports, listening to music, and exploring DC.
