Vi D. Le is a Senior Advisor for the Data Policy Institute at the Federation of American Scientists, where she is strengthening the field of government data policy with a focus on public health. This includes collaborating with partners such as dataindex.us to flag priority and at-risk federal datasets before they’re lost, and contributing to essentialdata.us, a collection of stories showing how federal datasets benefit American lives and livelihoods. Vi is a seasoned public health and violence prevention expert. Most recently, she spent nearly a decade as a Behavioral Scientist at the CDC’s Division of Violence Prevention, where she planned, directed, and implemented research, rigorous evaluations, and strategic technical assistance for public health initiatives. Vi spearheaded high-profile projects on intimate partner violence, dating violence, and technology-facilitated violence, partnering with research institutions, community-based organizations, and state, local, and federal agencies.
