Dr. Rich McCormick is a decorated veteran and Emergency Room physician who proudly serves Georgia’s 7th Congressional District. He is a member of the House Armed Services and Foreign Affairs Committees, the chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations in the Science, Space, and Technology Committee, and a former member of the bipartisan Task Force on Artificial Intelligence.
He recently (February 2026) spoke on the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee’s hearing, Powering America’s AI Future: Assessing Policy Options to Increase Data Center Infrastructure
In November 2025 he spoke at the Hudson Institute about securing AI leadership. In an interview the same month with National Defense, he said, “If we’re not the industry standard of the world, who will be?” McCormick said during the event. “Certainly, it will be China.”
