Jason Lewis-Berry is a public sector entrepreneur who has served at senior levels of federal and state government. As a U.S. diplomat for a decade, he specialized in preventing and responding to conflict, serving in a dozen countries ranging from Afghanistan to Uganda. Later he was appointed by President Obama to serve as Director of Overseas Operations for the State Department’s Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations. In 2017, Jason pivoted to domestic issues, serving as economic and community development advisor to Oregon Governor Kate Brown. From 2021 to 2025, he returned to the federal government, helping lead the U.S. refugee program at the Office of Refugee Resettlement in the Department of Health and Human Services. Jason has a Bachelor’s in Journalism and Communication from the University of Oregon and a Master’s in International Affairs from Georgetown University.
