Jacob Miller is Project Manager with the Smart Surfaces Coalition. At SSC, Jacob manages the Cities for Smart Surfaces initiative, and supports SSC’s Federal Funding, City Policy, Community Engagement, and Data Working Groups. The Cities for Smart Surfaces initiative brings city staff, legislators, and community groups from 10 US cities together with funded Smart Surfaces Coalition partner organizations to accelerate the adoption of Smart Surfaces through data and economic analysis, policy and project development, and community engagement.
Jacob brings a multidisciplinary background to his work — prior to joining SSC, Jacob served as Managing Editor of Pricing Nature, an educational podcast about climate policy and carbon pricing used in college curriculums across the country. He has a background in photovoltaic physics and conducted “Solar Fuels” research at Yale’s Energy Sciences Institute. He is motivated by the intersectionality of climate change, and the opportunities for positive change presented by our built environment.
Jacob holds a B.S. in Applied Physics with a certificate in Energy Studies from Yale University.
