Emma Espenan is a Climate and Health Associate on the Climate and Environment team at the Federation of American Scientists. She supports FAS activities to mobilize policy that addresses the climate-related drivers of health and builds more climate resilient health systems. Before joining FAS, she interned at the U.S. Climate Alliance, State Department’s Office of Global Women’s Issues, and White House Council on Environmental Quality, focusing on environmental justice, climate workforce development, and resilience. Prior to that, she served in state government, helping strengthen disaster preparedness and response networks in Louisiana and twice as an AmeriCorps member. Emma holds a Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a BA from Louisiana State University.
