Andrew Bahrenburg joins the Food Systems Impact Fellowship from American Farmland Trust (AFT), where he served as the Deputy Policy Director. Prior to his role at AFT, he was a Legislative Assistant to Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT), advising the Senator on issues related to agriculture, climate, energy, and natural resources. During the 2018 Farm Bill cycle, he was National Policy Director for the National Young Farmers Coalition. Born and raised in northern Vermont, Andrew has worked on dairy, vegetable, and poultry farms throughout the state, in addition to serving as an on-farm training instructor for the University of Vermont. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Macalester College.
