Carol Schmitt

Carol L. Schmitt, PhD is trained as a community/social psychologist and is currently a chief scientist in
RTI’s Community Health Research Division. She has spent over 2 decades applying behavior change
theories, expertise in survey methodologies, and rigorous mixed methods approaches to research and
evaluation at the community, state, federal, and international levels. Dr. Schmitt is committed to ensuring
that her work reaches audiences who can apply it, with a focus on measurement, data visualization and
the use of plain-language narrative.
