Mariel Povolny

Mariel is a researcher and policy analyst, most recently working with Columbia’s Technology and Democracy Initiative. Her research spans AI security and governance, online safety, and red teaming policy. Her work at FAS explores how frontier model evaluations are documented and reported to government. She holds a Master of International Affairs in Technology Policy & Innovation from Columbia SIPA and a BA in International Development from McGill University, and she contributes to Tech Policy Press.
