Kevin Chen

Kevin Chen is a Master of Public Policy candidate at the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs and an affiliate of the Schmidt Program on Artificial Intelligence, Emerging Technologies, and National Power. His research focuses on epistemic risk from frontier AI, specifically how overreliance on LLMs for analysis can erode independent human judgment in national security decision-making. As an FAS Policy Entrepreneurship Fellow, he is developing an evaluation standard for bias in frontier models deployed in government analytic work. At Yale, he is a teaching fellow for an undergraduate course on U.S. intelligence and a yearlong graduate seminar on artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. Before graduate school, Kevin worked as a data scientist in the U.S. intelligence community, where he performed open-weight model evaluations. He was a Summer Research Fellow at the Centre for the Governance of AI and is a technical research assistant at the Council on Foreign Relations.
