Nicholas P. Garcia is an attorney, policy expert and technology ethicist focusing on artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, intellectual property, and closing the digital divide. He is a Senior Policy Counsel at Public Knowledge, a nonprofit public interest organization that promotes free expression, an open internet, and access to creative works and tools. He is a founding organizer of the Public AI Network, and previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office Investigations Division. Nicholas received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, his M.A. in Ethics and Society from Fordham University’s Center for Ethics Education, and his B.A. in Philosophy from Fordham University.
