Tai Lung is a Senior Advisor on Federal Data Policy at the Federation of American Scientists. He has more than 20 years of experience in environmental justice, geospatial analysis, and evidence-based policymaking. His work has focused on helping communities, advocates, and decision-makers access and use environmental information to support more informed decisions. He previously served at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where he led EJScreen, the agency’s flagship environmental justice screening and mapping tool, and helped expand the use of environmental data in policy development, regulatory decision-making, and community engagement.

His expertise spans environmental governance, public data infrastructure, cumulative impacts assessment, and environmental justice screening methodologies. He has extensive experience developing tools and data resources that make complex information accessible and actionable for policymakers, researchers, and community organizations. Tai holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Geography from West Virginia University and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Maryland.
