Stephen Badea is a Legal Extern in the State and Local Innovation division at the Federation of American Scientists, where he is contributing to research on AI data center policy. Stephen is a rising 2L J.D. Candidate at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University in White Plains, NY. He is a former paralegal from Tampa Bay, FL with degrees in political science and linguistics from the University of Florida. An aspiring environmental lawyer, Stephen believes strongly in the need for bold international climate action and is interested in utilizing both domestic and international legal frameworks to facilitate a just transition to an energy system no longer dependent on any fossil fuels. These interests led him to become involved with numerous environmentally focused organizations on campus and beyond, including the Federation of American Scientists, where he hopes to contribute further to their pursuit of innovative climate and environmental solutions.
