Rose Mische Commins is a Senior Manager supporting FAS’s subnational portfolio. Prior to joining FAS, she served as Senior Associate for Civic Innovation at MetroLab Network, where she helped build communities of practice that bridged local government, community partners, and university researchers. Her work centers on aligning science and partnership to address community-identified challenges. At FAS, she continues to support programs previously housed at MetroLab, including the NSF-funded Civic Innovation Challenge and the R&D National Agenda Initiative. Rose brings a local government lens to her work, having held roles with the City of Bloomington, Town of Normal, and City of Greenbelt. She holds an M.S. in Recreation Administration from Illinois State University, where she was a fellow at the Stevenson Center for Applied Community and Economic Development, and a B.A. in English from Earlham College.
