Shaun Ee

Shaun is a manager at the Institute for AI Policy and Strategy (IAPS), which aims to understand and manage risks from advanced AI systems. In his current role, he leads IAPS’s engagement efforts with policymakers and industry. He also provides strategic direction on project selection and execution for IAPS’s Policy & Standards team, which focuses on implementing safeguards for advanced AI systems via voluntary corporate commitments, standards, and regulation.

Before his time in AI policy, Shaun worked on cybersecurity policy and East Asian geopolitics. He coordinated cybersecurity policy for the Singapore public sector under the Prime Minister’s Office, and was assistant director of the Atlantic Council’s cyber policy program and nonresident fellow in the Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security. Shaun speaks Mandarin and holds a MA from Peking University and a BA from Washington University in St. Louis.
