Matthew Hurteau
Matthew Hurteau is an ecologist who conducts fundamental and applied research on forests and fire. He is a professor of quantitative ecology at the University of New Mexico, where he uses observations, experiments, and models to better understand how the changing climate is altering forests and increasing forest flammability, and how forest management can mitigate the chance of extreme fire behavior.
