Ann Hunter-Pirtle

Ann Hunter-Pirtle is an Impact Fellow serving as a Strategic Communications Advisor to the Under Secretary for Science and Innovation at the U.S. Department of Energy. Previously, she served as the founding Executive Director of Stand For Schools, a nonprofit working to advance public education in her home state of Nebraska. She served as a speechwriter to then-EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy from 2014-2016 and as a specialist in land and water conservation policy at the White House Council on Environmental Quality beginning in 2011. Ann holds a BA in Political Science and French and a MS in Agricultural Economics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
