Alex Leader manages grant-funded research into benchmark large language model (LLM) performance across defensive cybersecurity tasks. This work is a collaboration between his company, New Foundry, and New York University, advancing interdisciplinary understanding of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and responsible AI development. Previously, Alex held leadership roles at Metaculus and Luminary Labs, where he managed strategic forecasting initiatives and designed large-scale innovation competitions, including a nationwide cybersecurity workforce development program on behalf of the U.S. Department of Education, NIST, and the NSA. At Luminary Labs, he has also spearheaded high-profile open innovation projects addressing critical challenges, for a variety of clients across the public and non-profit sectors. Alex holds a B.A. in Public Policy from the University of Michigan, a Master’s in International Affairs from the University of California, San Diego, and an Executive Diploma in Strategy & Innovation from the University of Oxford Saïd Business School.
