Liza Paudel

Liza Paudel (she/her/hers) is the Senior Program Manager for Tech Equity at the Greenlining Institute in Oakland, CA where she leads their efforts on technology policy and legislative advocacy. Her professional background includes policy research, and responsible technology grantmaking and strategy. Prior to Greenlining, she was a Program Associate at Omidyar Network, conducting research and strategic analysis to inform the Responsible Technology & Belonging programmatic and investment portfolios, especially around generative AI governance, oversight, and technological impacts on society. She has also previously served as a fellow in AI Ethics and Digital Governance at Jain Family Institute and as a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning fellow at the Open Society Foundations (OSF)’ Economic Justice Program. Earlier on in her career, she was a Research Analyst at MDRC, working on program and policy evaluations of federal workforce development programs for low-income and marginalized communities. Her research and policy interests include societal impacts of technology and AI, AI policy and governance, tech equity, privacy, and gender. Liza received an MPA from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs, where she specialized in International Development and Technology Policy; and earned a B.A. in International Relations from Colgate University.
