Larissa Larsen
Larissa Larsen is a professor of urban and regional planning at the University of Michigan, where she teaches graduate classes in environmental planning and planning practice. Larissa has professional practice experience as both an urban planner and a landscape architect. Her early research on extreme heat focused on outdoor temperatures and how the urban heat island disproportionately hurt marginalized communities. Now, she is focused on strategies to reduce indoor temperatures for lower-income residents who live in older homes in Midwestern cities and may struggle with utility poverty.
