Thushan Amarasiriwardena

Thushan Amarasiriwardena is a product leader focused on AI and public impact. He co-founded Launchpad Toys (acquired by Google, Emmy winner, NYT Best Apps), led Google’s earliest efforts to bring Large Language Models into production in the Google Assistant and the foundations of Gemini. Most recently, he served in the White House’s U.S. Digital Service, driving AI product work in federal agencies like the IRS, following the Biden-era AI Executive Order. Thushan began his career as a journalist at The Boston Globe.
