Shivana Lightman obtained her PhD in Immunology from Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center/University at Buffalo in 2020. Her areas of expertise include B cell biology, durable humoral immunity, and long-lived antibody titers. Currently, Shivana is a full-time mom to her toddler son, Silas. Shivana’s role as a mother, combined with her expertise in immunology, has spurred her passion for scientific communication and policy, particularly with respect to the social and economic benefits that scientific progress can deliver. She is committed to addressing the gaps between social and scientific policy with creative and innovative solutions that emphasize effective implementation.
