Abstract: This paper reviews the concept of Space Control as it is currently understood and attempts to answer two fundemental questions: What does effective Space Control entail and can the USAF accomplish effective space control? The primary thesis is the USAF air doctrine and theory has been misapplied to space, and we need to reexamine the meaning and requirements both of and for space control. Current and past air, space, sea and land (both US and foreign) doctrines and theories will provide the primary data for research.
