15th Bureau
Maebong General Bureau

The 15th Bureau of the Ministry of People's Armed Forces is responsible for the import of equipment.

The Maebong General Bureau (the Maebong Trading Company) under the General Staff of the Ministry of People's Armed Forces is responsible for importing and exporting the parts of missiles. Other organizations responsible for exporting missiles include the Yongaksan Trading Company, and the Changkwang Trading Company under the Second Economic Commission, and the 15th Bureau (the General Bureau of Technology) in the Armed Forces Ministry. MPAF's 26th Department was the forerunner of Maebong Trading, which is the only MPAF trading company with overseas branches.

The export of missiles occupies the largest portion of North Korea's total export volume. Egypt has been one of North Korea's main counterparts for developing missiles jointly. Iran has also been a counterpart for developing missiles jointly, though the country has also been buying North Korean missiles, and Syria has bought North Korean missiles. North Korea had also imported Chinese Silkworm missiles via railroads and then exporting it to Iran and Syria by sea.
