AN/SSQ-95 Active Electronic Buoy

The Active Electronic Buoy (AEB) AN/SSQ-95 is a self-contained, acoustic countermeasures buoy that deceives utilizing active electronic acoustic energy. The AN/SSQ-95 repeats acoustic signals within the primary threat band with an acoustic signature comparable to an aircraft carrier or a very large ship. The AN/SSQ-95 is capable of being used for counter-surveillance, counter-targeting, or as a war reserve mode resistant-terminal-defense system. The AN/SSQ-95 is an expendable equipment launched over the side of ownship.
