USS OGDEN LPD-5 SHIP'S LOADING CHARACTERISTICS PAMPHLET

SECTION XI

DECK DIAGRAM PRESENTATIONS

1.  INFORMATION.  Diagrams generated from CAEMS 3.2 have been
annotated to reflect actual data or additional information and
are located in the CAEMS sub-directory of this SLCP
.

2.  CORRECTIONS.  If generic CAEMS 3.2 diagrams are being
utilized, the following information/additions must be addressed
prior to load planning.

    a.  FLIGHT DECK.  The telescoping aircraft hanger is not
displayed on the CAEMS diagram and must be placed using the draw
mode.  The hanger dimensions are 65’ L x 23’ W.  Placement is
against the 01 level overhang and over the vehicle ramp ( 3’ to
port and 8’ to starboard).  This will allow for correct placement
of cargo (i.e. RHIB Boats) in the hanger breezeways.

    b.  WELL DECK.  The water barrier is not displayed on the
CAEMS diagram.  The water barrier is located at approximately
frame 230.  It is 7’3" wide and spans the width of the well.  For
placement the fwd edge of the barrier is 85’2" from the break of
the stern gate.

    c.  UPPER VEHICLE.  The space limits for the upper vehicle
deck is not fairly portrayed.   Limits have been updated but must
be accessed by selecting display in the main menu and unfreezing
"tiedowns".  This will display blue load limit lines on the
diagram which accurately reflect true limits.  The 18" required
for fire lanes must start from the blue load limit line.
