PERSONNEL AUGMENTATION REQUIREMENTS FROM EMBARKED ORGANIZATIONS

1.  GENERAL.  All personnel aboard both require and benefit from
ship’s services provided on the mess decks, in the laundry, etc.
Therefore, the tasks associated with these services will be
shared equally. The COT will task embarked units to provide the
following personnel to augment ship’s forces in these duties.

2.  AUGMENTATION REQUIREMENTS

    a.  Messing.  The numbers below are taken from
COMNAVSURFPACINST 5400.1G. Requirements for officer and senior
enlisted messes will be taken from the total.

   b.  Laundry Detail.  Two E-4s will be assigned to the ship’s
laundry and will be required to complete training in the proper
use of equipment. These personnel will supervise working parties
provided by embarked units on assigned laundry days.

   C.  Master at Arms.  Two E-5 and two E-4 will be assigned to
the ship’s Master at Arms Force. Duties will correspond with the
ship’s counterparts and will include; ensure sweepers are held,
control mess lines during meal hours, monitor the disposal of
trash, maintain order and discipline throughout the ship.

   d.  Ship’s Platoon.  Two E-4s and ten E-3 or below will be
assigned to the ship’s platoon and work directly for the CCO.
Requirements may be increased if cargo load or operational tempo
dictates. Battalion Special Orders (BSO) or equivalent must be
provided so that flight deck pay (FDHDIP) may be authorized.

   e.  Working Parties.  Working parties may be called away to
load stores, move mail, dump trash, etc. as required. Normally
equal numbers of ship and embarked personnel will be called. The
COT will organize standard tasking to units for 10, 20, and 40
man parties.
