A. DESCRIPTION: THE BRADLEY FIST VEHICLE (BFIST) IS AN M2A2 BRADLEY FIGHTING VEHICLE THAT PROVIDES CROSS-COUNTRY MOBILITY, MANEUVERABILITY, SPEED AND COMPARABLE PHYSICAL EQUIVALENT TO THAT OF THE MECHANIZED INFANTRY, ARMOR, AND CAVALRY UNITS THEY SUPPORT. B. CAPABILITIES: THE BFIST SYSTEM WILL PROVIDE THE FIST HQ THE CAPABILITY OF AUTOMATION ENHANCED SURVEILLANCE, TARGET ACQUISITION, TARGET IDENTIFICATION, TARGET TRACKING, TARGET DESIGNATION, POSITION LOCATION, AND COMMUNICATIONS FUNCTIONALITY WHILE MOUNTED. THE SYSTEM WILL PROVIDE THE FIST THE CAPABILITY TO AUTOMATE THE COMMAND AND CONTROL FUNCTIONS REQUIRING PERFORMANCE OF THE FIRE SUPPORT PLANNING, DIRECTING, CONTROLLING, AND CROSS FUNCTIONAL AREA COORDINATIONS, AS WELL AS PROVIDE BATTLEFIELD COMBAT IDENTIFICATION. THE ON-BOARD COMPUTING SYSTEM WILL HAVE OPEN ARCHITECTURE TO ALLOW CONTINUOUS SOFTWARE UPGRADE. C. EMPLOYMENT: THE BFIST VEHICLE IS USED BY FIELD ARTILLERY UNITS IN SUPPORT OF INFANTRY, ARMORED, MECHANIZED, OR ARMORED CAVALRY REGIMENT/BATTALIONS/SQUADRONS. D. BASIS OF ISSUE: ONE FOR ONE REPLACEMENT OF THE FIST-V IN FIRE SUPPORT TEAMS (FIST) SUPPORTING INFANTRY, ARMORED, MECHANIZED OR ARMORED CAVALRY UNITS. E. POWER REQUIREMENTS: NONE. F. TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS: (1) GROUND: TRAILER, 40T OR LARGER (2) AIR: C17 OR C5 AIRCRAFT G. PERSONNEL/MAINTENANCE IMPACTS. (1) OPERATOR: (A) CREW SIZE/MOS: FOUR PERSONNEL (ONE AOC 13A AND THREE MOS 13F). (B) TRAINING REQUIREMENTS (MOS/GENERAL): NO ADDITIONAL TRAINING REQUIRED. (2) MAINTAINERS: (UNIT MAINTENANCE): MOS 31U, 45T, 63T. (DS/GS MAINTENANCE): MOS 35E, 43M, 44B, 44E, 45B, 45G, 45K, 52C, 63G, 63H. H. SPECIAL NOTES: A.
