Advanced Tungsten Kinetic Energy Cartridge
The Advanced Tungsten Kinetic Energy Cartridge
Program is a multi-phased program including safety certification and
performance qualification of a contractor developed Advanced Tungsten
Kinetic Energy cartridge for use in the M1A1 Main Battle Tank. The
program is managed by OPM-TMAS with CCAC Heavy Armament Division
providing the technical support for conducting the qualification program,
equivalent to those employed on other US Army 120mm ammunition
programs. Subsequent to demonstration of required performance, 10,000
cartridges will be manufactured and delivered along with relevant
technical support material to the Egyptian Army.
