RR-144A/AL Chaff Training Device

The RR-144A/AL is a RF passive (chaff) training device that provides aircraft a chaff device that can be used for training but which does not interfere with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) air traffic control radars. It is intended as an improvement over the existing RR-144/AL chaff training device, substituting a degradable material for the E-type glass normally used on current chaff. The RR-144A/AL will have additional dipole cuts as compared to the original RR-144/AL, with frequency coverage in H, I, and J bands. The RR-144A/AL consists of a cylindrical cartridge approximately 1.4 inches in diameter and 5.8 inches in length. Planned product improvements will also eventually incorporate degradable plastic for the end cap and piston.
