Network tenets
- Same objective network architecture will be implemented on fixed bases and for deployable nodes (also mobile platforms)
- All communications services (e.g., voice, data, video, etc) will be accommodated as digital data
- Network will interface with appliances using a standard set of common languages (e.g., IP, IPv6, … - Goal: one common language)
- Network routing must include bandwidth management techniques, such as prioritization, congestion control and dynamic routing
- Network will be managed by a robust, automated and distributed network maintenance and management capability
