AN/ALQ-157 Infrared Countermeasures System
The AN/ALQ-157 Infrared Countermeasures System carried on the CH-53D Sea Stallion, the AC-130U Spectre, and other aircraft, is an infrared countermeasures set designed to protect the aircraft by jamming the missile guidance of a heat seeking missile by radiating controlled pulsed, high intensity infrared energy.
