Advanced Forward Area Refueling System [AFARS]

The Advanced Forward Area Refueling System [AFARS] is a two-man portable, four point refueling system with lightweight hoses and sexless drybreak fittings. Internally transportable by one UH-60 or two UH-1 aircraft. Capable of being deployed in 20 minutes or less using four personnel. It has a minimum refueling rate of 55 gpm per point when all nozzles are in use and a maximum of 90 gpm at any nozzle. The AAFARS will be a one for two replacement of the current Forward Area Refueling Equipment (FARE) system with only two refueling points, inadequate hoses, and a 35 gpm per point pumping rate.
