1. GENERAL.

        (1) AR 71-32 (2) AR 220-1. (3) AR 611-101

        (4) AR 611-112 (5) AR 611-201 (6) TRADOC Reg 71-15

        (7) TRADOC PAM 71-6

     b. Purpose and authority for the preparation and revisions of
Tables of Organization and Equipment (TOE).

        (1) Cyclic review in accordance with AR 71-32.

        (2) This review and revision incorporates concept changes,
updates manpower requirementscriteria (MARC), and applies
incremental TOE development procedures.

        (3) This version of the TOE has been prepared in accordance
with the provisions of current TOE development regulations and
guidance.

        (4) All Equipment Readiness Codes in these TOE have been
reviewed to ensure strict compliance with criteria in AR 220-1,
Unit Status Reporting.

        (5) The unit MARC Code is 22A. This is a combat support
unit that operates in the corp area and is required to move.

2. EMPLOYMENT.

    a. This company performs command, control, and communi-
cations (C3) and limited air movement flights for the division.
It enhances corps C3 by providing aerial flight for command and
control (C2), staff transport, liaison, air messenger service,
radio relay, and other general support purposes.

    b. With the exception of the limited AVUM provided by the
assigned crew chiefs and basic tool kits, the unit is dependent
on other units for all logistical and personnel support
services. Accordingly, it has little or no capability for
independent operations away from the parent battalion. It
also locates near or with the Battalion HHC and AVUM Company.

    c. The mission of the Command Aviation Company usually
requires the deployment of its aircraft either singly or in
larger elements of less than platoon or company size. These
aircraft or larger element are frequently placed under the
operational control (OPCON) or in direct support of another
headquarters. The assigned C3 support missions usually
extend over the entire division sector. These operational
conditions make effective command and control and the
provisions of necessary logistics support for the deployed
elements more difficult.

3. METHODS OF OPERATIONS AND FUNCTION.

GENERAL REMARK. The only personnel requirements listed in
this paragraph are those not covered by criteria and
measurable man-power standards contained in AR 570-2 or
related automated analysis. All of the pilot positions
discussed below are operational pilots, i.e., primary
cockpit seat fillers, for the eight UH-60 aircraft. The
following discussion is provided only to identify the basis
for the special qualification identifiers (SQIs) and
additional skill identifiers (ASIs) for these operational
pilots.
