Pingtung Airbase

Pingtung Airbase is home to the 439th Troop Carrier and ASW Combined Wing, which includes two squadrons [ 33 Sqn & 34 Sqn] S-2T aircraft owned by Navy, as well as two squadrons [101 Sqn & 102 Sqn] which fly C-130H tansports, and one squadron [103 Sqn] flying the C-119G/L transport aircraft. As of the late 1990s, the longest runway at Pingtung North was reportedly 8,000 feet long, while the longest runway at Pingtung South was reportedly 7,817 feet long.
