29TH INTELLIGENCE SQUADRON


1. Mission. The 29th Intelligence Squadron (29 IS) is an operational component of the 694th Intelligence Group (694 IG), influencing decisive information operations shaping the battlespace environment. The squadron tasks, conducts operations on, and provides effective organization, control, technical guidance, and support of signals intelligence (SIGINT) activities supporting Department of Defense (DOD) and other authorized organizations as an integral part of the National Security Agency (NSA). It is specialized and consists of teams of intelligence professionals supporting global reach, focusing global power, and securing and maintaining information superiority by conducting operations to test and evaluate new equipment and systems. The 29 IS implements NSA/Central Security Services (NSA/CSS) policies, standards, and procedures for the control of compromising emanations as they relate to SIGINT equipment. The 29 IS performs information operations through multiple sources for national, theater, and tactical customers.

2. Command. The 29 IS Commander (29 IS/CC):

2.1. Is subordinate to the 694 IG Commander (694 IG/CC).

2.2. Exercises command and control of 694 IG personnel dispersed among 29 IS flights.

3. Responsibilities. The 29 IS/CC:

3.1. Oversees administrative support of assigned flights within NSA.

3.2. Provides operational support, in liaison with the 694 IG, to all squadron members involved in NSA activities as needed.

3.3. Coordinates with appropriate NSA elements within groups to present orientation briefings and support to supervisors of squadron members.

3.4. Influences the analysis, production, and intelligence activity within NSA.

3.5. Executes duties as necessary or as directed by higher headquarters.
