Rockwell has applied its systems integration expertise to systems as challenging as Apollo and Space Shuttle, as well as to complex operational weapon systems such as the B-1B bomber. Rocketdyne has led the way in the development of laser weapons since this country first began work on such systems in the 1960s. Among Rocketdyne's most notable accomplishments has been the construction and successful demonstration of the world's highest-powered chemical oxygen iodine (COIL) laser for the U.S. Air Force.
North American Aircraft delivered 100 B-1B bombers ahead of schedule and within budget. Since North American's inception more than 50 years ago, the company has produced more than 57,000 military airplanes- more than any other military aircraft builder.
