Marine Corps Tactical Exploitation of National Capabilities (TENCAP) (U)
(U) The Marine Corps Tactical Exploitation of National Capabilities (TENCAP) program is a continuing effort that identifies, evaluates, and demonstrates the applicability of existing, new, and emerging space and national reconnaissance technologies to support Marine Air Ground Task Forces (MAGTF).
(U) The Marine Corps TENCAP program was initiated in 1977 to provide expertise to better exploit current overhead reconnaissance systems and influence the development of future systems to meet the information requirements of the tactical commander. To accomplish this objective, the Marine Corps TENCAP Office provides the vehicle for direct Marine Corps participation in decisions affecting new and advanced national intelligence systems capabilities.
(U) The Marine Corps TENCAP approach explores and applies advanced concepts and technologies being developed by the National Intelligence Community:
- (U) To meet Fleet Marine Force (FMF) of Joint requirements approved and/or established by the Marine Corps Combat Development Command (MCCDC).
- (U) And, for possible inclusion into systems being developed and acquired by the Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) on behalf of the FMF.
(U) Where possible, Marine Corps TENCAP places emphasis on its projects to integrate new technology, hardware, and software into existing systems within or programmed upgrade to the MAGTF Command, Control, Communications, Computer, and Intelligence (C4I) Architecture.
