OH/UH 2-CHANNEL (R-2399( )/A / R-2400( )/A)

The 2-channel receiver was part of the
initial suite of GPS UE which used several circuit cards
in common with the 3A, but was housed in a smaller,
lighter weight box. Use of 2 channels (compared with five
in the 3A) suited its intended application as a medium
dynamics receiver for integration into light aircraft and
helicopters. Th UH receiver is now undergoing the
first-ever organic modification to any GPS UE. This is a
software mod to correct a problem with the CDU locking up
when satellite PRN 30 was being tracked. In addition,
several enhancements are being implemented, including
Magvar and datums, and the ability to properly track and
display PRN 32. The OH receiver underwent a similar
modification in early 1998.
