The Fairchild Satellite Operations Center (FSOC) is the
second DMPS C3S SOC. It is located near Fairchild AFB,
WA, and is identical to MPSOC except for three areas.
There are two Data Acquisition Subsystems (DASs) at
FSOC dedicated to DMSP use.
FSOC has two antennas.
FSOC has two independent DAT Acquisition Subsystems (DASs),
either of which can support all commanding, status collection, and
mission data collection for a single DMSP satellite
The Fairchild Satellite Operations Center (FSOC) .
Presently, FSOC performs the function of a backup SOC for the C3S.
As such, it is staffed at a reduced level, with operations personnel
being transferred to the site if MPSOC is inoperable for a prolonged
period, or during periods of high international tension.
